Fictional Blog

My fictional blog is going to be about a funeral director who is new to the business. I haven't given him a name just yet but I will write about his first few weeks on the job including body pickups, etc. I know this sounds a tad-bit morbid but I thought it could be funny.

Haha, this sounds like it could be hilarious. I think the most difficult part could be making the character real. Try taking conversations from real life, or basing the person on a person from real life to increase authenticity.

I think, given the right dry and dark sarcastic voice, this could be quite entertaining and humorous.

I would love to hear any shock stories that this character my have, things he wasn't prepared for in becoming a funeral director.

I would also expect the humor to be subtle and rather tongue-in-cheek, almost as if you had no intention of it being funny.

Good premise. There's a lot of things you could do with this.

The content will depend on this guy's personality and how comfortable he is with dealing with grieving families and dead bodies. Someone who is awkward around both could make for some hilarious experiences.

I think this could be hilarious. Nothing like a little black humor right? What would be really funny is if you could make some fake pictures or stuff like that. Pictures would be great in this blog. However, it could get really weird if you're not careful. But of course you would be.

1. It can be a very fun idea, be sure to spend some time creating a character sketch before you start so you have a notion of how he/she would speak

2. I expect a couple of things
a bio, a couple of posts and some photos

When fiction blogging remember to blog as a person, perhaps he's a funeral director but really likes Star Trek or Windsurfing, most people blog as a person, and their profession creeps in (no pun intended).

I think you have a great idea here, very funny. There are a ton of different ways you could go with this, my interest is piqued.

I would suggest, that the blogs be absolutely serious, like this guy doesn't mean to be funny.

Maybe we should make it into a movie.

Six Feet Under had a hell of a following. Sounds like your style of humor could pull this off.

Considering your character is working with dead people, I would expect a decent amount of visual cues in the mix, going back to observation.

i think this sounds hilarious. Just be sure to make it seem real, but put tons of humor into it.

i think this could be freakin hilarious. Anything that has to do with accidentally dropping dead bodies because of inexperience is funny.

The way his blog is set up will have an affect on how credible it is, so make sure its not too obvious that he's into death and stuff.

other than that, you seem to be with it and capable. I'm excited to read it.

Sounds like a fun idea. The body pickups could be great to read about. I think if the job sounded monotonous and mundane it could make it sound like a real guy just doing his everyday job.
